Melodie Robinson is a highly respected leader in New Zealand sport and media, with a career that spans elite rugby, broadcasting and executive leadership. A former Black Fern and dual Rugby World Cup champion, she has represented New Zealand in both 15’s and 7’s formats, establishing herself early on as a formidable athlete.
Transitioning seamlessly into media, Melodie broke new ground as one of the first woman to commentate men’s rugby. Over nearly two decades in broadcasting, she hosted and reported across Super Rugby, international netball, and global sporting events for Sky Sport.
Today, she leads major sports and event coverage as General Manager of Sport and Events at TVNZ, overseeing flagship content like The Olympics and America’s Cup. She also plays a global leadership role as a member of World Rugby’s Executive Board and EventsCo board, advocating for the future of the game, especially women’s rugby.
