Partner Spotlight: Taxi

Tell us a little bit about who you are — beyond the job title. 

Kia Ora I’m Nicola. I am a people-centred, purpose-driven leader and co-founder of Tax Traders and Taxi; two Kiwi fintech companies that are making the tax system work for every business. I’m a relentless optimist and feel energised every day about business as a force for good. I am married to Josh, my co-founder in all things and we have three outrageously wonderful teenagers and a beloved kavoodle, Kobe.  Our home is always full of people, parties, flowers and food.  

What problem does your business solve — and what makes your approach different? 

The number one issue holding businesses back (and keeping business owners up at night) is cashflow. Taxi solves this problem by providing access to business funding utilising the provisional tax system. Our approach is different because our funding is radically affordable, flexible and dignified (no grovelling to the bank manager, no predatory terms) and designed with Kiwi businesses in mind.  Big corporates have been able to access funding in this way for over a decade, and Taxi makes this available to every Kiwi business.  

What gap do you think Revved is here to fill — and why does that matter right now? 

Right now, everyone’s facing pressure. Kiwi businesses need real conversations, practical support and a place where ambition feels contagious. We’re really proud to be supporting an event that will bring together a diverse array of smart Kiwi brains, and we can’t wait to feel the energy inside the room! 

What’s one idea, mindset shift, or piece of advice that changed the way you work or live? 

The way I bring myself to work every day is grounded in one core belief: businesses can (and should) be a force for good, and particularly that the workplace should be a place of love and joy, not of fear and anxiety. Practising these values in the office transforms how our team interacts with each other, our clients, and how they return home to their loved ones.
