Elise didn’t come to Compatico chasing a trend. After founding and scaling her own marketing agency at just 23, she realised something was missing. The work was successful, but the purpose wasn’t strong enough. When the opportunity arose to acquire Compatico in mid-2025, she gave herself one weekend to decide. The answer came quickly - because, for the first time, the work felt personal.

“We’re living through a loneliness epidemic,” Elise says. “More dating apps than ever, but fewer real connections.”

Compatico had already been built on a powerful foundation by Dame Theresa Gattung: a human-first matchmaking service with rigorous safety standards, deep respect for privacy, and a belief that connection deserves care. Elise saw the opportunity to honour that foundation - and expand it.

Since taking ownership, momentum has followed with intention.

Events expanded across Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch.

Community gatherings introduced for low-pressure connection.

Over 1,000 profile shares delivered - more than half in just five months.

Innovative activations launched, including wellness-led initiatives like Hot & Single at Les Mills.

But the ambition goes beyond scale.

Elise’s vision is to transform the entire singles experience - positioning Compatico not just as a place to meet a partner, but as a community where people invest in themselves. Physically. Mentally. Emotionally. Dating becomes part of a bigger journey - one rooted in confidence, wellbeing and genuine connection.
